Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer during the upcoming transfer window.
The Brazil international is currently the top target for the Red Devils this summer and talks have already been held with his entourage.
It is now reported that the Bianconeri are braced for the departure of the 27-year-old and have started the hunt for a quality replacement.
Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix has been identified as the leading candidate and they are prepared to make a move if Bremer leaves the club.
The news is a huge boost for the Red Devils, who have earmarked Bremer as a potential replacement for Raphael Varane this summer.
Varane’s current deal with the club expires at the end of June and reports claim that the hierarchy have no desire to prolong his stay.
Bremer’s release clause of €60m will only become active next year, but the Bianconeri could be willing to accept around €65m for his sale.
The price could be lowered if United are willing to include Mason Greenwood as a makeweight. Juventus are keen admirers of him.
