Effective date: 10 October 2026. Publisher: 24World Media, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067. Contact: [email protected]. This Privacy Policy explains what information Media Remarks (mediaremarks.com) collects, why it collects it, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and what choices and rights you have. It applies to this website and its contact forms. It does not apply to third-party sites linked from our coverage.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you submit the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, subject and message, plus any details you choose to include. If you subscribe to any newsletter offered on the site, we receive the email address and preferences you submit. Do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers or health records through these channels.
Automatic technical information. Like most publishers, our servers and security tools log IP address, browser and device type, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps and error events. Our content delivery, cache and security providers process similar logs to deliver pages quickly and to block abuse. Analytics, where enabled, records aggregated reading patterns such as section popularity and approximate geography derived from IP address.
Cookies and similar tools. We use strictly necessary cookies for security, load balancing and remembering privacy choices; functional cookies for preferences such as display settings; and, where you consent or where law permits, analytics and advertising cookies described in Section 5. Your browser can block or delete cookies, though necessary functions may then fail.
2. How we use information
We use contact information to reply, to assess corrections and tips, and to administer advertising or licensing enquiries. We use technical logs to operate, secure and debug the site, to measure readership in aggregate, to enforce our Terms of Service, and to comply with law. We do not use contact-form messages to build marketing profiles, and we do not sell personal information. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
3. Legal bases and compliance
Depending on your location, processing rests on performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating a secure news site, consent for optional cookies or newsletters, or legal obligation. We follow applicable United States federal and state privacy requirements and, where they apply to our processing, honour data-subject rights under other regimes. If a provision conflicts with mandatory local law, mandatory law prevails.
4. Sharing
We share information only as needed: hosting, content-delivery, security, anti-spam, analytics and email providers act as processors under contractual limits; advertising partners receive cookie or impression data as described below, not your contact messages; we disclose information where required by law, court order or to protect safety and rights; and in a corporate transaction your information may transfer subject to this Policy or notice. We require processors to protect information and forbid their use of it for unrelated purposes.
5. Advertising and analytics cookies
Advertising may be delivered directly or through partners who set cookies to frequency-cap, measure impressions and, where permitted, personalise ads. Analytics providers help us understand which sections are read so we can staff desks responsibly. You can manage choices through any Cookie Preferences or Privacy Choices control linked in the footer, through browser settings, and through industry opt-outs. Blocking cookies does not hide advertising; it makes it less personalised. Third-party embeds, notably official YouTube players on Video pages, set their own cookies once loaded under Google’s policies, which we do not control.
6. Retention
Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry, maintain a corrections record and meet legal duties, then deleted or anonymised. Server and security logs rotate on short cycles except where an incident requires preservation. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or the list is retired. Retention periods are reviewed and minimised; indefinite storage is not our practice.
7. Security
We use transport encryption where supported, access controls, least-privilege accounts, security monitoring and regular updates. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, so we ask you never to send highly sensitive data through web forms. If we learn of a breach affecting your information in a way that triggers notification duties, we will notify as law requires.
8. Children
This is a general-audience news site not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through forms. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us for deletion.
9. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and identity verification, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to certain processing. Use [email protected] with the subject Privacy Request and the relevant URLs or message dates. We respond within the period law requires and explain any lawful refusal. You may unsubscribe from any newsletter with one click. You will not be discriminated against for exercising rights.
10. International transfers and third-party links
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries with safeguards appropriate to the transfer. External links, including official video channels and cited sources, have their own policies; review them before providing information there.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy to reflect practice or law. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after posting constitutes acknowledgement of the current version.
