Chelsea have rejected an opening proposal from West Ham United to sign midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The England international had a terrific loan spell with Crystal Palace in 2021/22, but struggled to make the same impact with the Blues last term.
Gallagher has now made the decision to move on from the Blues, but they are currently reluctant to sanction his sale to the Hammers for £40 million.
As per The Telegraph, the west London giants want a fee of around £50m for their graduate and won’t accept anything less for him this summer.
The Hammers were left surprised by the recent snub by the Blues, but they remain optimistic of landing the midfielder for a lower transfer fee.
David Moyes‘ side are planning to sign three midfielders after the club-record departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal earlier this month.
Aside from Gallagher, they have their sights on landing Scott McTominay and James Ward-Prowse before the start of the new campaign.
