Chelsea are waiting to find out the contract decision of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Blues invested on Nicolas Jackson to strengthen their strikeforce last summer, but he has netted only twice in the Premier League.
The club are likely to sign a marquee striker next year and it has been reported that Osimhen is the top name on their wishlist.
The Nigerian’s current deal with the Naples outfit expires in the summer of 2025, and he has yet to be convinced to extend his stay.
Should his contract stand-off continue, the Blues could be encouraged to make an approach to land him at the end of the season.
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis was eyeing close to £160m to sell Osimhen last summer, but the price is bound to reduce.
A package of around £120m could be enough to sign Osimhen, who has been in good form this term with six league goals already.
