Chelsea are reportedly considering a shock move for Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw.
Shaw is currently in his 10th campaign with the Red Devils, but he has yet to make 300 appearances for them due to regular injuries.
He is just returning from a long-term muscle issue, but Simon Phillips claims that Chelsea have a keen interest in his services.
The Blues have been forced to play with a makeshift left-back in Levi Colwill in recent weeks after setbacks for Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.
Chilwell has just returned after his hamstring injury, but Cucurella could be out for another two months following a knee issue.
Phillips claims that the Blues could tempt United into parting ways with Shaw for the right price, given their FFP issues.
The Blues are likely to face a similar situation soon but they plan to solve it by offloading Trevoh Chalobah among others.
Ian Maatsen is also anticipated to leave the club permanently. Borussia Dortmund have an option to buy him this summer.
