Chelsea are exploring the possibility of landing Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
The Frenchman is currently plying his trade in the Saudi Pro League, but he is determined to return to European football this winter.
Benzema is ready to accept an enormous pay-cut to secure his move and The Guardian claim that the Blues are considering an offer.
The Blues currently have Nicolas Jackson, Armando Broja and Christopher Nkunku as their candidates to lead the attack.
Jackson has netted eight goals for the campaign, but three of those came against Spurs, who were already down to nine men.
The Senegalese has also scored against the likes of Luton, Burnley and Sheffield. He has yet to stand up in the big games.
Broja has yet to prove his credentials in the Chelsea shirt while Nkunku can’t get on the pitch regularly amid his injury woes.
Benzema would be a fantastic short-term signing for the Blues and could help them finish in the European places this season.
