Chelsea may not make a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer if they land a new centre-forward this month.
The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal last summer, but he has been disappointing with his finishing this season.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing an upgrade this month and reports claim that Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is on their radar.
The Sweden international has 20 goals to his name this term and the Blues could be prepared to trigger his €100m release clause.
If they were to do so and sign him, it is claimed that the club are unlikely to enter the pursuit of Osimhen at the end of the season.
The Nigerian star signed a new deal with Napoli recently, but as part of the contract, there is a release clause of around €120m.
That will become active at the start of July this year. Chelsea may not afford him after Gyokeres due to Financial Fair Play issues.
