Liverpool have paid another £8.5 million to Benfica after Darwin Nunez made his 60th appearance for the club at the weekend.
Nunez joined the Merseyside giants from Benfica for £64m last summer. As part of the deal, they agreed to pay £21m in add-ons.
The first add-ons of £4.3m was paid after he made 10 appearances for them and the second was triggered against the Cityzens on Saturday.
The Uruguayan did not score in the 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, but the Reds were set back by £8.5m after his 60th appearance for them.
The 24-year-old has blown hot and cold in a Liverpool shirt. He has registered 22 goals and 10 assists from 60 appearances.
This is more than a decent record for the striker, and the fans will be hoping that he can find better consistency in the final third.
Nunez has been guilty of missing several clear-cut chances and he could have easily doubled his goal tally at Liverpool by now.
