Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is happy with Sunday’s draw against Bournemouth on the road.
The Blues were aiming to return to winning ways earlier today, but they lacked the cutting edge in front of goal.
Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling hit the woodwork but other than that, they did not come close to finding the net.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino highlighted that he has 12 players out with injuries and it was a really good effort.
He said: “With 12 players injured and only 3 players starting today who were with us for the last two weeks, I think I need to say it was a really good effort from the team.”
Chelsea have had a poor start to the campaign, and they have accumulated just five points from as many matches.
The pressure is now mounting on Pochettino. If he can’t change the club’s fortunes, his job could be at serious risk.
The hierarchy are not assessing his position, but it could happen if the Blues can’t step up with their performances.
